Spanish calligrapher Nuria García Masip
She was born in 1978 in Ibiza – Spain and grew up between her home country of Spain and the United States. After she obtained her university degree in French and Spanish literature from George Washington University in the United States, she traveled to Morocco in 1999, where her interest in Islamic art began.
In 2000, she returned to Washington, DC, where she began learning Ruqa'ah and Naskh calligraphy at the hands of Professor Muhammad Zakaria. I moved to Istanbul in 2004 and there I continued to study calligraphy at the hands of Professor Hassan Chalabi and Professor Daoud Baktash, and concentrated her efforts on the thuluth and Naskh script. The license was granted in these two lines according to the traditional method in a ceremony held by the Research Center for Islamic History, Arts and Culture (IRCICA), and each of its three professors signed the license piece. She currently lives in Munich - Germany, where she works on her own writing business. She has exhibited her works in many international exhibitions and has acquired works in a number of private collections
